The Consulate General of Japan in Montreal's jurisdiction includes the provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Government of Japan has appointed two honorary consul generals who can provide certain services (not including the issuing of VISAs, certificates, etc.), assistance and information in the Halifax Municipality (Nova Scotia), and the St. John's City (Newfoundland and Labrador).
