Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) is an organization under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT).

As a leading organization in the provision of student services, JASSO comprehensively administers scholarship and loan programs, support programs for international students, and student life support programs. JASSO aims to foster creative individuals who can become the leaders of the next generation of society, while promoting international understanding and exchange. It also strives to provide information that is easily-accessible and meets the needs of applicants and students.

To promote international scientific cooperation, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), established as an independent administrative institution, offers several fellowship programs for researchers from overseas to come to Japan to conduct joint research activities with colleagues at Japanese universities and research institutes.
