The Consulate General of Japan in Montreal offers some services outside the Province of Quebec in some of the provinces under its jurisdiction. Those services may be provided by honorary consuls general named by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The honorary consuls general are responsible for answering some questions regarding working holiday visas, offering help and support to Japanese citizens visting their region, and promoting the interests of Japan.
