Quebec National Day celebration hosted by Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada (June 24, 2026)

On June 24, Consul General Uchikawa attended the Quebec National Day ceremony hosted at the City Hall by Montreal Mayor Ms. Soraya Martinez Ferrada. He conveyed to her his appreciation for the City’s annual Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony held at the Montreal Botanical Garden, in recognition of the sister-city relationship with Hiroshima, and reaffirmed his desire to further strengthen relations between Japan and Montreal. He also exchanged views with Ms. Chantal Rouleau, Minister of Social Solidarity and Community Action, as well as with Ms. Pauline Marois, Chancellor of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and former Premier of Quebec.
