On May 27, Dr. Minoru Tsunoda was awarded with the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for the year 2025.

Since 1992, Dr. Tsunoda has actively contributed to the activities of the Quebec-Japan Business Forum, where he currently serves as an Honorary Member of the Board. In 2006, he was also appointed JETRO Liaison Officer in Montreal and participated in the reception of numerous economic missions. In recognition of his exceptional and longstanding contribution to the development of economic relations between Japan and Canada, he was awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for 2025.

After having taught Japanese at the Université de Montréal and other universities, Dr. Tsunoda built a distinguished career as the only certified translator in Canada from Japanese to English and French, and vice versa.
