End of the Term of the Honorary Consul General of Japan in Halifax, Nova Scotia

On March 4, 2026, the term of Mr. Mark J. Surrette as Honorary Consul General of Japan in Halifax, Nova Scotia came to an end.

Since 2001, Mr. Surrette served as Honorary Consul General of Japan in Halifax, Nova Scotia, contributing to the promotion of exchanges and friendly relations between Japan and Canada. He worked to promote activities related to Japan and to strengthen ties with Nova Scotia. In recognition of his distinguished service, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by the Government of Japan in 2017.
