The Japanese Film Festival – Montreal – (May 17 and 18, 2023)

On May 17 and 18, the Japanese Film Festival, an event co-organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Montreal and the Japan Foundation, Toronto, celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Cinémathèque québécoise. All three film screenings were a huge success, with "The Flavor of Green Tea over Rice," directed by Yasujiro Ozu, drawing a full house. We are pleased that the audience was able to gain a deeper understanding of Japan through films from different eras and themes. Thank you to everyone who attended!
