On October 10, the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations (MCFR) hosted the event "Québec - Japon : des liens d’affaires uniques en Asie" in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Québec's General Delegation in Tokyo. This event featured a discussion panel with His Excellency Kanji Yamanouchi, Ambassador of Japan to Canada, Mr. Chenier La Salle, Québec's General Delegate to Tokyo, and Mr. Yanick Gervais, President and CEO of Olymel. Consul General Uchikawa was also present and launched the event with an opening address. The venue was filled with a multitude of participants, primarily comprising delegates from corporations and government officials representing both Japan and Quebec. The Consulate-General remains committed to fostering various initiatives aimed at bolstering the economic partnership between Japan and Québec, and promoting a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)”.
