Meeting with representatives of Otakuthon (July 19, 2022)

On Tuesday, July 19, Consul General SAITO welcomed representatives of Otakuthon at his official residence. Otakuthon is a convention celebrating Japanese popular culture, which will be held in person for the first time in three years, from August 5 to 7, 2022. It is highly gratifying to notice the growing interest for Japan that people here cultivate through their passion for Japanese animation (anime) and manga, which will be highlights of the convention. During this upcoming edition of Otakuthon, the Consulate General of Japan will hold an information booth and offer traditional culture demonstrations to showcase aditionnal facets of Japan beyond pop culture.
