O-Hanami picnic (May 15, 2022)

On Sunday, May 15, Consul General Jun SAITO attended a cherry blossom viewing event, or “hanami”, held at the Montreal Botanical Garden. Under the beautiful blooming sakura and azaleas, many Japanese cultural activities took place, such as a demonstration of ancient martial arts, Japanese drums, and tea ceremony, for the great enjoyment of the visitors. The Consul General also visited the Japanese Garden and the Japanese Pavilion, and was impressed by the quality of care given to their maintenance.
