Meeting with Mr. Daniel Jutras, Rector of the Université de Montréal (April 20, 2022)

On Wednesday, April 20, Consul General Jun SAITO made a courtesy call to Mr. Daniel Jutras, Rector of the Université de Montréal. According to the latter, approximately 70 students from the Université de Montréal set off to study in Japan every year, and the close ties between the university and Japan remain unchanged despite the pandemic. The Consul General discussed concrete measures to further encourage academic exchanges and was surprised to learn that Mr. Jutras worked for 35 years at McGill University before he became Rector of the Université de Montréal, as this would be most improbable in Japan!
