On December 7, Consul General Jun SAITO attended, as a representative of Japan, host country, the ceremony honoring Quebec athletes who took part in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, organized by Quebec Premier, Mr. François Legault.

During the luncheon welcoming Olympic and Paralympic athletes, as well as Canadian Olympic Committee representatives, Ms. Isabelle Charest, Minister for Education and Responsible for the Status of Women, highlighted with enthusiasm Japan’s management of the Games, especially its peerless capacity to hold such an event successfully during a pandemic despite the many challenges posed by complex circumstances. The Consul General was also thrilled to hear that the delicious and satiating menu served at the Olympic Village had been especially appreciated, having himself worked as part of the management team prior to his assignation in Montreal.
