On September 2, Consul General Izawa praised the continuous efforts of Dr. Tomoko Takano in her medical field, including her key role in assisting the Consulate General of Japan in the dissemination of vital information to Japanese residents of Canada, by presenting her with the Consul General of Japan Award.
