The memorial service in honor of Doctor Tetsu Nakamura (December 6, 2019)

On December 6, Consul General Izawa attended the memorial service held in honor of Doctor Tetsu Nakamura, who was killed in the terrorist shooting in Afghanistan on December 4. This memorial service was organized by the Afghan Youth Association of Montreal (AYAAM). Dr. Nakamura made great contributions for the people of Afghanistan, providing them with medical care and irrigation systems. Dr. Nakamura's name is well-known throughout Afghanistan, and all those in attendance that evening expressed their heartfelt condolences in addition to highlighting his numerous achievements. Japan resolutely condemns this heinous terrorist act. As a representative of the Government of Japan and of the Japanese people, the Consul General expresses his most sincere gratitude to the Montreal residents who took the initiative to organize this event.
