Visit to the Chisasibi Business Service Center Inc. (September 12 to 14, 2019)

Further to an invitation from Mr. Bertie Wapachee, business manager at the Chisasibi Business Service Center Inc., Consul General Izawa visited, from September 12th to 14th, the native communities of Chisasibi and Wemindji to find out more about the culture, the ancestral territories and the traditional way of life of the Cree people. During his stay, he was also introduced to local matsutake mushroom picking; matsutake mushrooms are highly appreciated in Japan for their unique flavor.
