Official Visit of Consul General Izawa to Nova Scotia (January 9 and 10, 2019)

Consul General Izawa paid an official visit to Nova Scotia from July 9 to 10, 2019. During his visit, he made courtesy calls to the Honorable Arthur J. LeBlanc, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, the Honorable Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia, the Honorable Kevin Murphy, Speaker of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, the Honorable Geoff MacLellan, Minister of Business, and Halifax Mayor Mike Savage.

Consul General Izawa also attended a working lunch with Kelliann Dean, Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Laurel Broten, President & CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc., met with members of the JET Alumni Association Québec/Atlantique, as well as with local Japanese community representatives to discuss various topics on Japan-Nova Scotia relations.

In addition, Consul General Izawa toured COVE (Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship) where he learned about ongoing projects and initiatives from the centre’s team, and also visited Dalhousie University’s Dal Ocean Research department, which is equipped with advanced marine technology.
