A National Day reception in honor of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, co-organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Montreal and the Delegation of Japan to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), was held at the ICAO Headquarters on Friday, November 23, 2018.

Among the guests in attendance, Quebec Government representative Ms. Nadine Girault, Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, and City of Montreal representative Mr. Christian Arseneault, City Council Member, each gave a speech.

The Consulate General offered the guests a cultural information booth, a Japanese culinary art demonstration, as well as a sake tasting. Moreover, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre of Montreal (JCCCM), the JET Alumni Association Québec/Atlantique (JETAA), the video game development studio CyberConnect2, Narita International Airport, and the airline companies Air Canada, Japan Airline (JAL) and All Nippon Airline (ANA) also all held information kiosks on site.

This year again, flowers arrangements by the four schools represented within the Montreal Chapter of Ikebana International (Koryu Shotoukai, Sogetsu, Ohara and Ikenobo) brightened up the venue.
