The 19th Atlantic Canada Japanese Language Speech Contest at Mount Allison University (March 4, 2017)


Co-organized by Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, the 19th Atlantic Canada Japanese Language Speech Contest was held in Sackville, NB. All contestants, including some from nearby cities as well as students from Saint-Mary’s University, presented their compositions based on various topics, displaying the results of their diligent study of the Japanese language. Among all participants, eleven competed in the beginner category, thirteen in the intermediate category, four in the advanced category, and two in the open category.
The Japanese song “Haru no Umi” (Spring Sea), performed on stage to mark the opening of the contest, received hearty response from the audience.
