Celebration for Valentine’s Day and renewal of the act of twinning between St-Valentin municipality and Mimasaka city, Okayama (February 14th 2017)
On February 14th, while attending a dinner celebration for Valentine’s day, Mr. Hideaki Kuramitsu, Consul General, participated to a signing ceremony of the act of twinning between St-Valentin, Quebec, and Mimasaka city, Okayama. Mr. Pierre Chamberland, mayor of St-Valentin, and Mr. Seiji Hagiwara, mayor of Mimasaka city, signed the act while both locations were connected via Skype.
The act had originally been made in 1997 between St-Valentin municipality and Sakuto-cho, Okayama. To mark the 20th anniversary of the act, it was renewed between St-Valentin municipality and Mimasaka city, in which Sakuto-cho was merged.
Following the signing ceremony, a special event for Valentine’s Day was held at the venue, where Mr. Hideaki Kuramitsu, Consul General, made a speech. The celebration was held under a lively atmosphere while offering performances by local singers.
