Meeting with the Cree Nation (December 4, 2019)

On December 4, Consul General Izawa welcomed to his official residence Dr. Abel Bosum, Grand Chief of the Cree Nation, to discuss an exchange of resources with Japan, including the possibility of exporting matsutake mushrooms from Cree lands to the Japanese market, while likely importing Japanese greenhouse technology into the Cree Nation. Hopefully through this experience, Japan and First Nations in the Canadian North will be able to build strong bilateral relations favorable to both parties.
