The Consulate’s normal business hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
(Passport, Certificates, Family registration, Voter registration, etc., except for visa.)

*Requests for document issuance may be accepted until 5:00 p.m. (except for visa).

The Consulate General of Japan is located on the 21st floor of the National Bank tower at the corner of de la Gauchetière West and Beaver Hall Hill.
The consulate is very easily accessible by metro. Simply take the Orange line to Square Victoria station. Follow the signs in the metro station for the National Bank Tower (tour de la Banque nationale).
If you are driving to the Consulate, here are general directions on how to get here. Please note that paid parking is available at 701 Viger Street in the National Bank building.
From the North:
Take the Metropolitaine (Highway 40) to Decarie South (Highway 15). Take the 15 south to the Ville-Marie East (Highway 720). Take the University-De la Montagne exit and follow University to St. Antoine Street. Turn right onto St. Antoine and continue to Square Victoria. Turn left onto Viger Street, and then right onto Beaver Hall Hill. Turn left onto de la Gauchetiere.
From the West:
Follow Highway 20 to the Ville-Marie East (Highway 720). Take the University-De la Montagne exit and follow University to St. Antoine Street. Turn right onto St. Antoine and continue to Square Victoria. Turn left onto Viger Street, and then right onto Beaver Hall Hill. Turn left onto de la Gauchetiere.
From the South:
Via the Champlain bridge: Take the Bonaventure-Centre-Ville Highway. Exit onto University Street and follow University to St. Antoine Street. Turn right onto St. Antoine and continue to Square Victoria. Turn left onto Viger Street, and then right onto Beaver Hall Hill. Turn left onto de la Gauchetiere.
Via the Jacques Cartier bridge: Follow "Montreal Centre-ville-Downtown" to Delorimier Street. Take Delorimier to Viger Avenue and turn right onto Viger. Take Viger to Beaver Hall Hill, turn right and then left onto de la Gauchetiere.
From the East:
Take the Metropolitaine (Highway 40) to Highway 25 South. Continue on Highway 25 and take the Notre-Dame Blvd. exit, follow to Notre-Dame and turn right onto Notre-Dame and continue to downtown Montreal. At Viger Avenue, turn right onto Beaver Hall Hill, and then left onto de la Gauchetiere.
